Wellness Vaccinations Programs
Preventing illness and disease is always easier and cheaper than treating it. Vaccinating your pet is vital to preventing serious illnesses and even death and helps to build up your pet’s immunity against many dangerous diseases. Most vaccinations will begin at your pet’s first wellness exam and require a schedule of doses throughout the first months and years of life. Vaccinations differ depending on several different factors, such as type of animal, his or her age, lifestyle and environment. At Conyers Animal Hospital, our team of veterinarians will carefully examine your pet to determine the necessary vaccinations and customize a vaccine schedule specifically for him or her. Some vaccinations, like rabies, will be necessary throughout your pet’s entire life. We look forward to assisting you with all of your pet’s health needs.
Puppy Wellness
Our puppy wellness program is created to give your puppy all the benefits of veterinary services available to him or her from 6 weeks old to 16 weeks old. This service includes a series of examinations and necessary vaccinations including rabies, distemper, parvovirus, etc. Your puppy will also be tested for worms and be treated for the most common intestinal worm of puppies – roundworms. Roundworms can cause gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting and/or diarrhea. There are other parasites that cause similar symptoms and can even result in your puppy to becoming anemic (low red blood cells). Performing a stool test will allow us to determine how to treat your puppy accordingly. Although some worms are visible to the naked eye, most worm burdens are diagnosed by examining the stool of your puppy microscopically.
Kitten Wellness
Our kitten wellness program is designed to offer your kitten all the benefits of veterinary services available to him or her from 6 weeks old to 12 weeks old. Included in this service is a series of examinations and vaccinations including rabies, panleukopenia (distemper), leukemia, etc. In addition, your kitten will be tested for worms and be treated for the most common intestinal worm that infects kittens – roundworms. Roundworms can cause your kitten to vomit and/or experience diarrhea; however, it is also possible for your kitten to have roundworms without showing any signs of it.
A microscopic fecal examination will allow us to evaluate the presence of these worms. The examination will also look for other types of worms that can affect your kitten.

Microchip Pet Identification
A microchip is contained in small biocompatible capsule smaller than a grain of rice, ensuring that the device is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and completely safe. An easy, nearly pain-free procedure places the microchip just under your pet’s skin where a special biopolymer keeps the device in-place inside the animal. These microchips never have to be removed or recharged during your pet’s lifetime.
Should your pet run away or get lost, a simple scan of the chip will allow the proper authorities to determine the owner’s identity and return the animal accordingly.
